Is Carry Wise legal advice?
No. Carry Wise provides informational guidance only. Laws change frequently and vary by jurisdiction. Always verify current statutes with a licensed attorney before carrying. You are responsible for compliance with all applicable laws.
Does the app require an internet connection?
No. All carry law data and venue information is stored on your device. The app works fully offline. No account or subscription is required.
Does Carry Wise track or store my location?
No. Your location is used only on-device to determine your carry status and nearby restrictions. Your GPS coordinates are never transmitted to any server or stored.
How often is the carry law data updated?
We review and update carry laws regularly. If you notice an inaccuracy or a recent law change, please report it to reports@carrywise.app and we will investigate promptly.
Why isn't my permit showing as honored in a state?
Reciprocity laws change frequently. If you believe a state should honor your permit but the app shows otherwise, please email us with the state and your permit state so we can verify and update.
Why am I not receiving location alerts?
Make sure location access is set to "Always" in Settings → Carry Wise → Location. Also ensure notifications are enabled in Settings → Carry Wise → Notifications.
How do I report an inaccurate law or venue?
Tap the Report button in the app, or email reports@carrywise.app with the state, venue type, and what you believe is incorrect. We take accuracy seriously and will review every report.
What states are covered?
All 50 states plus Washington D.C. are fully covered with carry laws, reciprocity, open carry rules, duty to inform requirements, and local city/county restrictions.
